Extreme Performance from New Technology

“Based on the advanced Intel® 5500 Series IOH chipset and Intel® 5500 Series Processor, plus supporting DDR3 technology, these new ASUS platforms will deliver performance upgrades of up to 70% in comparison to previous generation platforms according to SPECCPU. The ASUS Z8 Series Motherboard has attained the No.1 SPECCPU Score for SPEC organization.” said Andrew Lynn, AVP of ASUS’ Server Business Unit. He further expressed, “Other than the performance jump, the new Intel® Platform also features great power management to handle different application scenarios.”

Power Efficiency and GREEN Design*

With current trends leaning towards GREEN and energy savings, these servers are equipped with 80% Plus high efficiency power supplys, and a 6-phase CPU power, 3-phase memory VRD design, which effectively reduce power loss and help end users save on their electricity bill. Furthermore, the ASUS exclusive EPU (Energy Processing Unit) technology provides total power system efficiency by detecting current loadings and intelligently moderating power in real-time.

Virtualization Ready

Besides offering exceptional performance and the GREEN design concept, ASUS’ new server platforms also support VMWare ESXi 3.5UP4 and upcoming ESXi 4.0, which helps MIS personnel implement consolidation.

Special System Design for Superior Performance and Reliability

To obtain high performance and reliability, ASUS has designed special features into its server systems. For example, the RS700D-E6 is designed with a dual independent DP system in a 1U chassis for high density computing, offering independent computing nodes. The RS700-E6 utilizes a unique cable-less design, providing not just a neat and professional overview, but also easier diagnosis and maintenance for MIS personnel. Additionally, a total of 8 HDD bays in the chassis also help to expand storage capacities for customers.

Flex-E Technology for Workstation and Server Dual Use*

Utilizing one server for dual use means cost-savings. With Flex-E technology, two PCI Express x16 (x16 link) slots automatically switch to x8 link if slot six (or slot five) and slot four are occupied, allowing users to enjoy the flexibility of both server and workstation modes.

PIKE Support Ready

In order to upgrade from SATA storage to SAS directly, ASUS recommends customers to use its optional PIKE Upgrade Kit, which is available on its new products. With PIKE, slim-sized and flexible storage options for customers can be achieved when upgrading directly to SAS RAID with multiple I/O solutions, without sacrificing expansion capabilities.

In addition, all of these products will feature versatile I/O expandability, complete RAID solutions, the ASMB4-iKVM Upgrade Kit and optimized designs for better thermal solution-providing customers with superb performance under heavy loading.

All these products are available for order now, so please contact your local distributors for more specific information.
